1. Who will be providing the training?

Whatever your on-site training requirements, VFE will only ever send senior engineers to train your team.

It’s easy to put the product on the pedestal, but we’ve long held that the importance of service excellence in manufacturing can’t be overstated. When you look at how this impacts the on-site training we offer, you can be certain that whoever leads your sessions will be experienced, enthusiastic, and fully certified in all the relevant industry accreditations.

2. How many people can be trained at one time?

We’ve found that the sweet spot for training on equipment is no more than four staff and no more than eight in a classroom environment.

That said, we can be flexible. As you’ll know from our interview with Michael Jones, Head of Projects at VFE, we always strive to adapt our services to meet our customers’ needs.

“Being of an engineering background, sometimes there's nothing better than standing directly in front of a problem with a group of people around it”, Michael explains. Our recommendation of no more than four staff at a time is because too many people in one group can detract from the learning experience and limit the effectiveness of the training.

3. Will certificates be provided?

Yes, we’ll provide all your trainees with certificates. Depending on the course topic, we may also be able to offer you a copy of the training course content for future reference.

At VFE, we’re incredibly proud of our customer retention rate (around 80% over the last 20 years). By sharing our training course content with you, we hope you’ll be able to continue upskilling your operating teams, develop your in-house expertise and build core resilience into your operations year after year as your production grows and your operations expand.

4. Does the equipment have to have been supplied by VFE?

No. With our extensive service and calibration network, VFE engineers are very familiar with every major make and model of furnace, autoclave and oven

In the rare instances that we’ve not come across the make or model of your machines, we’ll send an engineer ahead of the training to familiarise them with the specific equipment, so you can be sure that the on-site training your team receives is of the same high quality.

5. How long do training courses last?

This is dependent on the type of training being carried out, but typically, most of our on-site sessions are no longer than 1 or 2 days.

As already discussed, we’ll always go the extra mile to adapt our services around your training needs. If your site setup is especially complex or you have particularly large groups of attendees, for example, we’re happy to supply senior engineers for up to weeks at a time.

6. How do you keep the sessions COVID-safe?

We understand that while many customers want to proceed with on-site training, COVID-19 restrictions such as social distancing guidelines and safe working practices can make this challenging. Some manufacturers will only allow so many contractors on-site per day, for example, while others have further restrictions in place around the use of their facilities.

To remain compliant when visiting a customer site for on-site training or any other reason, our teams follow every step in line with the latest government legislation and customer-specific guidelines in relation to coronavirus and wider health and safety.

As a result, we’re able to continue to carry out on-site training to our customers’ benefit while doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our engineers and your trainees.
